Cowboys silence Packers 27-16

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — On an uncharacteristically quiet night for Terrell Owens, the Dallas Cowboys leaned on their defense and running game — then unleashed little-known wide receiver Miles Austin to put away a 27-16 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.

Marion Barber ran for a career-high 142 yards and a touchdown, and rookie Felix Jones added a 60-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Austin, a backup who plays mostly on special teams, sealed the win with a 52-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.

Tony Romo was 17-of-30 for 260 yards and Owens was held to two catches for 17 yards as Dallas (3-0) joined the reigning Super Bowl champion New York Giants as the NFC’s only undefeated teams.

What I’m hearing….

I’m hearing that Aaron has been approached about a new contact. Remember Rodgers changed agents earlier this season. Look for this to happen during the Packers bye week.

I’m hearing Ryan Grant’s hamstring is on the mend. HC Mike McCarthy seems to be handling this injury very well.

I’m hearing Cincinnati HC Marvin Lewis has come under some fire, however don’t look for him to be fired during the season. Mike Brown is a little too thrifty to allow that.

I’m hearing Willis McGahee will have his touches limited this season. Look for Ray Rice and Le’Ron McClain to receive the bulk of the carries.
