…2000: "He did WHAT?!!"
 
It’s true that we talked about a rain-swept Monday night divisional encounter last week. But with it being Vikings week, I don’t know how we can resist another one.
 
Entering their first head-to-head matchup of the season, the Packers and Vikings seemed headed in opposite directions. Led by Dennis Green, the Vikings were 7-1, and the Packers, under new head coach Mike Sherman, were stumbling along at 3-5.
 
Playing in a steady mist, the teams traded field goals, and then the Vikings put together an 84-yard drive culminating in a Daunte Culpepper scoring pass to Cris Carter. The Packers responded with an 87-yard drive of their own, culminating in an underhand TD flip to Ahman Green. After another field goal apiece, the teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter, and the score remained 20-20 until late in regulation.
 
That’s when the fun really started.
