* I’m hearing Peyton Manning may not be ready to start the regular season. This is from a former NFL player with ties to the Manning family.
Manning is experiencing flare ups in the knee. This is occurring when walking or putting any pressure on it. Manning has had some fluid removed from the Bursa Sac in his knee.
Yes, Manning is expected to practice Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if he can make it through one practice without the flare-ups that have been reported.
* It’s been documented Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver had an interesting conversation on the plane ride home after the debacle by the bay in San Francisco. NFL.com Video: Aaron Rodgers Interview
I’m hearing Aaron is taking a much more active & vocal leadership role in the locker room (which is exactly what DD wants). Who is the unquestioned leader on the Packers? Easily, it’s Donald Driver. But, DD is sharp enough to realize he cannot do it alone and knows his quarterback must develop into that role. Aaron is being asked to grow up fairly fast for a guy that doesn’t turn 25 until December 2, 2008. Aaron has the mental make-up to take this leadership role by the horns, run with it and be successful.
